Hiking is a form of physical activity that is based on walking in nature on various paths or trails, but also outside the marked paths and represents a way and style of life, as a whole series of activities that make life more pleasant, interesting and above all more beautiful for modern man. Mount Visočica forms the natural border between Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is separated from Treskavica on the east by the river Ljuta, on the south and southwest by the river Neretva from Prenj, and on the west and north by the canyon of the river Rakitnica from Bjelašnica. It is named after the many high peaks. The highest peaks are the Mosque (1967m), Great Ljeljen (1963m) and Vito (1960m). The northern part consists of mountain pastures at an altitude of 1300 to 1400 m, and the southern lower part is overgrown with forest. Unlike other mountains, here summer cattle breeding is preserved in its original form. The most delicious dairy products can be purchased in the apartments and the wide mountaineering soul of cattle breeders can be felt. Despite the harsh living conditions, people have inhabited these areas since time immemorial. The oldest material evidence is numerous necropolises with tombstones.
